Smart Virus Scanning
- eScan checks all popular archive and compressed files
for virus and other threats. These include ZIP, ARJ, CAB,
WiseSFX, GZIP, Embedded MSO, Embedded PowerPoint inflate,
Tar, LHA, RAR, ProCarry, DiskDupe, TeleDisk, DiskImage,
WinBackup, Effect Office, etc.
- Scans packed executable files.
- Scans embedded objects like macros inside Word, Excel
and PowerPoint files.
- It has an effective code simulation based, heuristic scanning
capability to check for unknown viruses.
- Scans files and sectors of disks and operative memory
of the system. Detected viruses are removed.
- It also detects and removes polymorphic viruses.
- Detects and disinfects special viruses, known to infect
Windows 95 based programs.
- Scans e-mail databases and RFC-822 formatted e-mail messages.
- Scans inside encrypted (password protected) files, without
asking for a password.

- eScan maintains a comprehensive activity log of all events
on a client. The logs include Security Violation Event,
IP address of the machine, the event date and time, action
taken, etc.
- The activity log is pushed by eScan Clients to the eScan
Server at pre-defined intervals.
- It allows administrators to track down offending sources
of violations.

over 45,000 virus types, different compression formats and
HTTP traffic from Websites. The checks are made for malicious

Integration of The Product
- eScan maintains a comprehensive activity log of all events

RS, SPS and US are available on MicroWorld's central website.
These are also duplicated or mirrored on our partners' websites
across the world. The List-of-Sites (LOS) is kept in LOS-Database
(on the Internet) and contains regularly refreshed RS, US and
SPS.
All our products continuously monitor the Internet and check
for new RS, US and SPS. They also monitor the LOS-Database for
any changes. When an Update is detected, eScan automatically
downloads it using its automatic Internet-Alive algorithm. The
whole process is done on real-time basis, without any manual
intervention.
